A refresher, of the rules of the group. Please pay particular attention to rule number 1. This is Not a chat room. Thank you. By joining this group, Northern New Jersey All Incidents, you agree to be bound by the rules of this group. Failure to abide to the following rules can, and will, result in your post being deleted and/or your removal from the group, at the Admins discretion. 1. This is NOT a chat group. This group is for incidents, as described below, and the facts of those incidents. Although the title says Northern NJ its open to the tri-state area. Please use your best judgement, as this is an open group. This group is open to any incident that you think members may have an interest in. This is not a venue for political agendas, please take it to another, appropriate group. Although it is centered on the Northern NJ area, out of area incidents are acceptable. 2. Definitions of an Incident; Police, Fire and EMS activity, L.O.D.D, Amber alerts, Missing persons, Employment opportunities and fundraising events related to PD, FD, or EMS, Unusual incidents, ie, manhunt, bear hunt, severe weather, out of area incidents. 3. Guidelines for posting. Be specific, include a location, Check for other posts prior to posting on an incident, A helicopter over the neighborhood is not an incident, Lost pet alerts are not allowed, Do not ask for description of a vehicle, name of those involved or the company involved in an incident. 4. There have been some requests for the names of the firefighters injured at various incidents. Unless it is a confirmed LODD, that has already been released to the public, please DO NOT publish the names, or pictures, of any injured MOS in this group. This also applies to the victims of any incident posted in the group. Please be respectful of each others privacy, as well as their families. This rule is non negotiable and will be strictly enforced. 5. Any member that makes a threat against another member, whether it be in this group or not, will be removed. Permanently. There will be no debate on this issue. Zero tolerance. 6. If you make a post, please make sure your info is correct. No one source is ever correct 100%. Please dbl check. If you feel that a post is not correct, please private message the member and allow them to fix it. DO NOT debate it in the open forum. 7. Comments like wow, I’m at work, I’m going to buff it, I’m having diner, did my town get called, and so on, will no longer be tolerated. The purpose of the group is to report the incident, not discuss it. 8. Hateful or disrespectful posts and personal attacks will not be tolerated. All I ask is to play nice and stay on topic. You do not have to be a member of the emergency services to be a member of this group. There is to be no swearing or foul language, No personal attacks. Stay on topic, Facts only, no one cares about your work sched, or what you are having for dinner. 9. The Admins are the only ones to remove people from the group, to do so will result in your own removal. If you have an issue with another member bring it to our attention, and we will deal with it. 10. If a member has been removed by the admin, they are not be re-admitted to group by another member. this will also result in your subsequent removal. 11. All pictures posted to this group will comply with all applicable copyright laws and with NJS199,Cathys law. If you share information or photos from this group, please credit the group and/or the submitting member. Likewise for information and photos posted to the group. Its only fair. 10. Members of this group, Northern New Jersey All Incidents are solely responsible for their postings and are encouraged to follow all applicable laws when doing so.
