A reminder, Ozark Regional Transit will be in town next week (Wed. from 5:30-7:30 in the District Court room next to the police department at 955 E. Douglas Street) to discuss their new bus routes in Prairie Grove. This will be a great benefit to anyone in need of affordable transportation throughout NW Arkansas. A regular route through Prairie Grove will begin in early June. The bus will run every three hours through Prairie Grove from the time it will leave Lincoln at around 6:00 am up until past 8:00 pm., 5 days a week, and will connect from Lincoln, to Prairie Grove, Farmington, then to ORTs connection lot on Razorback Road where additional bus connections can be made that can take you throughout NW Arkansas. Students can ride from Prairie Grove to Bentonville for example if they want to catch the connection to NWAC. From there the bus will loop through Greenland and West Fork before returning for the trip back through west highway 62. ORT will be holding a public input meeting in Prairie Grove to allow citizen input. The next public meeting for the Ozark Regional transit (ORT), regarding a new Express Route for Prairie Grove and surrounding communities, is now scheduled. The meeting is part of the planning process, and community members are encouraged to attend. The occasion takes place Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at the Prairie Grove District Court facility at 955 E. Douglas Street. The open-house style event is scheduled from 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM at 955 E. Douglas St. Prairie Grove, AR 72753. It is an opportunity for the public to provide feedback in the design. ORT is implementing a new express route connecting the Farmington, Greenland, Lincoln, Prairie Grove and West Fork communities to the rest of ORT’s bus system in NW Arkansas. The project is now in the analysis stage, where community input is needed to determine service levels, route alignment and bus stop locations. The open-house is open to anyone who wants to attend, including residents, business owners, and other stakeholders or interested parties. The open-house will feature displays of route options and timetables under consideration for implementation ORT staff will be available to further explain the route proposal, answer questions and record comments. For additional information prior to the date of the open house, please contact Jeff Hatley at 479-365-2161 or [email protected]
