A reminder that both College and University matriculations are - TopicsExpress

A reminder that both College and University matriculations are tomorrow, and a word about the PG photo. College matriculations are compulsory for new students (save for genuinely unavoidable clashes, of course - I know PGCEs especially may struggle). These are in the morning. You need to meet in Caedmon Hall at (or, ideally, before) the appointed time, where you will be placed into alphabetical order. Once this is done, the procession then heads - in order - to chapel, where the (non-religious) matriculation ceremonies will begin (they last c.45mins). During this ceremony, each person signs the college matricula (a sort of register of members). It is recommended that you wear smart clothes (see handbook) and you should wear your gowns. As a reminder, the timings are as follows (meet in Caedmon Hall for these times): 08:45 - surnames A-G 10:00 - surnames H-O 11:15 - surnames P-Z 13.00 Postgraduate Photograph (War Memorial, Bede Lawn). A good opportunity to photograph all our PGs as a community. Photographs are usually £12. Again, smart dress and gowns should be worn. 13.45 Cathedral Matriculation (Meet in Caedmon). This is not compulsory, but is a great opportunity to enjoy the pomp and ceremony of the Cathedral while wearing your gowns. The ceremony again lasts around 45 minutes.
