A request for donations of used clothing to be used as the fabric for new clothes to be featured in Form on Words, designed by artists participating in the upcoming ATM exhibition, You reach out - right now - for something: Questioning the Concept of Fashion Corner for collection of old clothing and stories about them --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Place: 2nd floor, ATM Entrance Hall (under the rose window) *Please tell the Ticket Counter staff that you wish to donate old clothing. - Jan. 25 (Sat) 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. *After the Pipe Organ Concert - Jan. 26 (Sun) 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Form on Words features artists participating in the upcoming exhibition at the Art Tower Mito (ATM) Contemporary Art Gallery, You reach out - right now - for something: Questioning the Concept of Fashion. They will be making new clothes out of donated pieces of old clothing that are full of the memories and emotions of their previous owners. The plan is to collect secondhand clothing from residents of Mito and vicinity, along with their stories of any memories connected to the clothing, and to design and produce new clothes with them. A corner will be set up on the 2nd floor of the ATM Entrance Hall under the rose window, where the designers participating in Form on Words will collect the used clothes and write down the stories about them. Those who plan to donate the old rags that will serve as the fabric for the newly designed clothes are asked to bring in three to five pieces of clothing each. Please note that no shoes, handbags or other similar items will be accepted. As the clothes are being handed over, the designer will ask the donors to relate any special stories they have to tell about them. Both the redesigned secondhand clothes and the stories will be exhibited during the term of the exhibition. Also, please note that it will be impossible to return any old clothes that have been donated. Instead, those people who have donated fabric will be given some novelty goods related to Form on Words at a later date.
