I just started a scholarship fund in memory of my husband, Steve Stevenson, a firefighter Captain with Otsego, MI Fire Department and Operations Supervisor/Paramedic with American Medical Response in Grand Rapids MI, over 25 years in both fields. November 2012, Steve volunteered for AMRs disaster response team for Hurricane Sandy relief. While helping on Long Island, NY, Steve suffered an aortic aneurysm and passed away December 2, 2012. The scholarship will offer help to students, pursuing careers in EMS, Fire Science or Vocal Arts. Steve and our daughter, Chelsea, use to sing all the time, hence the vocal arts. alleganfoundation.org/giving.htm Steve was such a huge part of EMS/Fire, Allegan County Fire Academy, Emergency Management, Ski Patrol and instrumental in starting the medical first responder program in Otsego, that I feel the need to start this scholarship to honor his memory. If I could request your followers to donate just $1.00 to the scholarship. The kids that we could help pursue their dreams (as Steve did) would be incredible!
