A request to modify the building height requirement and other - TopicsExpress

A request to modify the building height requirement and other standards for Hidden Vistas Planned Development is back on the Planning and Zoning Commission agenda Tuesday, Dec. 2, at 6 p.m. at city hall. The original public hearing was Nov. 18. Twenty-two people spoke against the changes, so P&Z members voted to continue the public hearing to Dec. 2 so those comments could be addressed. A modified site layout may be presented by the developer on Dec. 2. The layout would be preferable to the one presented Nov. 18 as well as the allowed alternative which is to place apartment buildings directly along Hidden Vistas Boulevard at an increased density and outdated design standards. Hidden Vistas is a 203 -acre development located south of Hidden Creek Parkway. The property includes up to 10 phases to develop up to several hundred single-family lots, several hundred multi-family lots, as well as some commercial uses. The request Nov. 18 was to change the text to say the permitted height of all multi-family structures shall not exceed three stories, with an additional story allowed below to provide parking for units above within Tract C-2 between Hidden Vistas Boulevard and the regional storm water detention pond. This is Item 2A on the Dec. 2 agenda, bit.ly/120214planningandzoning.
