A resource Id forgotten, until I was reminded of it today when I learned the author has passed away. Donald Moran was a member of the SAR, and was writing a biography of Maj Caleb Gibbs, a commander of the Commander-in-Chiefs Guards. Hed written a number of other articles over the years, and he told me where some of them can be found-- Several years ago I wrote a short history of Washingtons Guard. The article is online at the Sons of Liberty Chapter, Sons of the American Revolution website. When you visit their home page, on the right hand side it mentions the existence of a second site. When you enter it, on the left hand side is an index, and the article is listed as Washington;s Guards. As you will read at Morristown, the Guard was reorganized and a large number of men added to it from the different regiments. There is also another article I have published in the above referenced index about the winter of 1780. It has been republished several times, and again a worthy read.
