A response from someone on my Blank Ballots article: Daz Maclean. - TopicsExpress

A response from someone on my Blank Ballots article: Daz Maclean. I reported my ballot paper being blank on the reverse and received this reply: Mr Maclean A number of voters have raised this issue, apparently following some posts on Facebook. However, I can advise that there would have been no ballot papers issued that were blank on the reverse. There are a number of reasons for the strength of my assertion: 1. There is a rigorous quality control process at printing and at the receipt of ballot papers. 2. At the issue of a ballot paper to the voter, a note is taken of the ballot paper number and this is recorded on the corresponding numbers list (CNL) next to the number of the elector to whom it was issued. The number is taken from the reverse of the paper. Without a number the paper would not be issued. Finally I would note that in Edinburgh there were only 460 papers rejected and none of these were rejected on the basis of “the reverse being blank”. So even if a blank paper was issued, and I am content that none were, then it was counted and not rejected. If you have any concerns about this or the processes in the polling station on Thursday, you should raise them with your local counting officer at Angus Council - Tel: 01307 476 226 Email: [email protected] Basically fobbing me off!
