I appreciate you taking the time to share your views with me. I have heard from many of my constituents about their frustrations with President Obamas Administration and the decisions they have made. After listening to my constituents, and many Americans, I knew something had to be done. It is for this reason that I chose to draft H.Res. 442, the Stop This Overreaching Presidency (STOP) Resolution. The law is the law, no matter who is the President. If the President wants to amend laws, he must follow proper legislative procedure and come to Congress with legislative changes. This Resolution directs the House to institute legal action against the President to require him to comply with the law. It does not require a vote in the Senate. My constituents, all Americans, cannot circumvent the law of the land, and the President of the United States should be no different. While there are many Members of Congress with different backgrounds and constituencies, I will fight to represent your interests and those of the Seventh Congressional District of South Carolina.
