A response to my best of friends Terence Nkosi In the early - TopicsExpress

A response to my best of friends Terence Nkosi In the early hours of this morning we were awoken to a status by this fellow, where he claims that my proximity to some people of Gauteng confuses me and makes me think i have a right to comment on GP politics, and this nigga further claims that if i, can focus on my province, half the problems of the Weatern Cape can be solved. I think it is the duty of any of us to assist a comrade when he wakes up in an unfamiliar territory and out of excitement decides to say anything that comes to mind. I had thought that Pat Makape would come in and assist, but am sure he is too busy with substantial issues than to comment on views informed by insomnia. Firstly let me say that am glad that my good friend which i love, didnt check in at some golf estate when he wrote that status, its clear that the shock of a better life for all is slowly subsiding. Hopefully in the next few weeks he will come back to normality and his views will be sober again. However for now let me clarify him in point form. 1. Apart from incorrectly analysing the dynamics in the WC, he then makes a conclusion that 1 Alex Stemela holds the key to solving half of WC problems. This is an interesting conclusion seeing that of the over 30 000 membership of the ANC, its leadership from PEC, REC, BEC and the leagues, my friend TN assumes that one man, a super being can solve half of the Provinces problems and the structures of the organisation will have to take care of the other half , am glad though he thinks so highly of me. 2. My friend atributes the fact that the province is governed by opposition to a weak ANC, forgetting that at its strongest in 1994 under the leadership of Nelson Mandela, with comrades like Alan Boesak and Trevor Manuel, the vast majority of the Western Cape voted against the ANC. Not that the Province doesnt have its problems and challenges which i always highlight from time to time, however one Terence cant say stay away from Gauteng politics but in the same breath he feels the need to offer a brief analysis on the ANC in WC. 3. I am sure my good friend was confused by the sights of green grass and the excitement of being a part time caddy that he has lost his proper tools of analysis. Let me assist him. One might realise that his week the ANC in Gauteng held a Provincial Congress, and as is customary amongst ANC members nationally we always comment on the congress and generally have views even on who we think must emerge and can best take the ANC forward, we have done this with FS, Mpumalanga, Limpopo, KZN, EC, NC, NW and Gauteng will not be an exception. Remember the Gauteng ANC is not an ANC franchise owned by private individuals where one can say other members of other franchises cant have a view on what happens in other franchises save to write a letter to head office if they have a concern. If my comrade would remember even on YL processes there has been greater interest on otheer Regions and Provinces. All in all my friend i hope you are clarified, Gauteng is not an autonomous structure of the ANC, we are all members of one organisation.
