A review from the Department of Agriculture has outlined yet another major breach of ESCAS regulations by Livestock Shipping Services (LSS). Last year, LSS allowed nine cows to leak from a supply chain in Gaza where they were slaughtered in cruel and inhumane conditions. One of the findings handed down yesterday involved cattle having their eyes gouged and shooting cows legs from under them. So what’s the Department doing about it? The answer is nothing. LLS hasn’t been penalised, nor had its license revoked for its repeated breaches of Australian law. It’s time to face the facts. The welfare of Australian cattle overseas can’t be controlled from a desk in Canberra. It’s time to #banliveexport
