A review on TripAdvisor: Have you seen some reviews of ZENING lately? This one is really funny. Headline is -- Caution--Anti Zen... Avoid at all cost. There are various options in the Polis/Latchi area where you will find better accommodation in an equally beautiful and convenient setting. The owner of Zening resorts treats people like they could not be worth less to him. Both staff and guest!! He will wear the most phony smile ever while initially greeting you and you will than hear him yelling at an unpaid intern for asking for direction. He than shot me an apologetic half smile when he realized that I was watching. I would guess he did not apologize to the young man. The labor he imports illegally is all either paid in peanuts or not at all. Not only is their pay absolutely despicable, but they are constantly being threatened with demotion or extermination of their contract completely. As far as the resort itself...it is bordering 1.5-2 stars. It is very incomplete. The spa is run by a few excellent young women who sound to be Eastern European. They were very professional in their work but, the spa itself is very tacky. Tacky is a theme of this place in general. Upon arriving you will feel as if you just pulled up to the circus. There are these terribly hung neon lights, rust in color paired with white LEDs and bright green. The reception is full of cheap decoration and an unfriendly concierge...if you could even call him that. The food is very mediocre. They are averaging a new chef every month due to the aforementioned circumstances of Zening as a work place. (very reliable source told me in the village) The service is attempted but, because there are no real professionals hired, the quality of service reflects this poor decision. I would just reiterate in closing that it is advisable to avoid this place. One cannot own a retreat based on Zen and be so cold. I will be surprised if this place remains in the same ownership for long.
