The approximate shoreward edge of the Gulf Stream current...as of August 15... 18 nm south of Dry Tortugas light...on Loggerhead Key. 2 nm south of Cosgrove Shoal light...off the Marquesas Keys. 4 nm south of Sand Key light...off Key West. 5 nm south of Looe Key...off Big Pine Key. 1 nm south of Sombrero Key light...off Marathon. 1 nm southeast of Alligator Reef light...off Islamorada. 2 nm southeast of Molasses Reef light...off Key Largo. 1 nm east of Carysfort Reef light...off Ocean Reef. Gulf Stream information courtesy of the naval oceanographic office. Today East winds near 15 knots...decreasing to 10 to 15 knots. Seas 3 to 4 feet. Isolated showers and thunderstorms. Tonight East to southeast winds 10 to 15 knots. Seas 2 to 4 feet. Isolated showers in the evening. Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms after midnight. We will fish the Bayside today, I an not up to letting my crew get beat-up to catch some very small Black Fin Tuna , maybe nothing. The reef will be bumpy at best.
