A sad one - but please pass on your well wishes below! Hello, would it be possible to put a post on your page to show support for some South Wales Police Officers in relation to the following: Twenty-one family members, friends and police colleagues of PC Dylan Rees, who was critically injured during a rugby match just over a year ago, are undertaking a fund-raising 100 mile cycle from Pontypridd to Cardigan this Saturday (May 17). Dylan, an officer based in Pontypridd, who was born and brought up in St Dogmaels, suffered a life-changing brain injury during a rugby match in Cardiff in March last year and is still a patient at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff. Inspector Nigel Griffiths said: “Dylan’s plight has shocked everyone around him. He is a lovely guy and it is very difficult for family, friends and colleagues to come to terms with the situation. “He has fantastic family and friends around him and is getting the best care from medical teams at the hospital. “His friends and colleagues at South Wales Police often feel helpless but have showed unwavering support for Dylan and his family and this will continue. “We hope this bike ride will help to raise some money that can help Dylan and his family in some way. “With a level of adversity that is difficult to comprehend, Dylan and his family have displayed inspirational bravery and devotion to one another.” The event has been given substantial support from local businesses. The Thomas Carrol Group, stores such as Boots, Halfords, Sainsbury’s and Tesco have all pitched in to provide the team with cycling jerseys and equipment, and food for the trip.
