A sad, sad end to my Hen Harrier watch! :-( 5 days ago, was the last day of normal activity, the next day there was no sign of the male, feeding stopped & although the female hung around for 2 days, I never saw her venture anywhere near the nest again. Despite 7 hours of me watching, over the following 3 days, there was just no more nest activity. So yesterday, I visited the nest along with a licence holder from the local Raptor Group, who was able to establish that the nest had indeed been predated by a Fox! :(
