A selection from the album The Bermuda Triangle, by Isao Tomita. I had the pleasure to meet him in person when he appearing in conjunction with Renaissance in concert in Heidelberg, Germany while I was attending Heidelberg American High School (my dad was stationed in Heidelberg for about five years). I went back stage for an autograph and had my copy of Snowflakes Are Dancing (the music of Debussy realized with synthesizers) with me. Tomita autographed the cover with his signature using a combination of an electric symbol and a clef. It was an amazing concert, especially considering that Tomita is a pioneer in that field and this was well before digital technology. Among the myriads of electronics, he had the legendary modular Moog V synthesizer. For those unfamiliar Tomitas sound, it is much different from many of other electronic musics. He managed to create a rich symphonic texture and the music never felt mechanical, rather organic and dynamic. This album, which I have as an LP, was printed on a coral pink vinyl which totally blew me away when I first removed it from its slip cover. Most LPs are black. I would play this album and let the sounds wash over me. youtube/watch?v=MfRxLKyk8Dc
