A severe thunderstorm warning has just been issued for parts of the Sunny Coast and Gympie this afternoon. The BOM says the storms have been spotted on the radar west of Noosa Heads and south of Biggenden and are moving towards the southeast to northeast. They are forecast to affect Noosa Heads and waters off Noosa Heads by 3:50pm and the area north of Kilkivan by 4:20pm. Damaging winds, heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding and large hailstones are likely.
