A shooting at a Miramar Ranch, Calif., residence left a 10-year-old boy dead; a 13-year-old girl died after an accidental shooting in the southern valley of Las Vegas; a 17-year-old was killed in an apparent drive-by shooting in a north St. Louis County, Mo., neighborhood; Jason Thompson, 34, is charged with shooting his girlfriend in a home in southeast Atlanta; a man was found dead in the driver’s seat of a car parked on a residential block in southeast Fort Wayne. Gunshots rang out as children played nearby. According to Slate’s gun-death tracker, an estimated 4,724 people have died as a result of gun violence in America since the Newtown massacre on December 14, 2012.
