A significant number of atheists oppose caricacreation, i.e. the straw man argument against the entire planet piling onto a boat made of sticks and surviving the worlds largest natural disaster. However; this is unscientific as it leaves out all of the great framework created by the masterful Karl Popper and his falsification process for scientific argumentation. Every time we have an anachronistic debate of this nature, meaningful discussion is set back at least a hundred years and the conflict thesis works as a convergent process from both sides (rather than the one-sided suggestion that religion initiates hostility - humans initiate hostility, not worldviews). We must replace the black-and-white framework of emotionally motivated modern politics and discussion with the reality of gray area individualism.
