A small matter Ive had on my heart for a little while and never really felt compelled to bring up: Something I hear said quite often when Im around you brothers is the word Chump. Now, I’m not directly singling out any one person. I think I’ve heard it uttered by quite a few of you. Even leaders. And, I know it’s somewhat of an inside thing and not meant to impose true harm, but I get a sense of macho’ism and competitiveness when it’s being said. The word itself is an insult, however, and translates as such in my eyes. That being said, it’s very rare I get up on a soapbox, or try to make serious point. Lord knows there are always other topics that are probably of more dire importance. Things like the “sweet name” though, albeit seems slightly demeaning, is something I see as light-hearted and funny. But for some reason, this chump term just rubs me the wrong way. Anyway, I think we, as “brothers”, should build one another up through encouraging words, as opposed to negative. Not trying to preach. Just my thoughts, guys. All Im saying is, if theres one word Id be happy to see removed from everyones vocabulary, itd definitely be chump. Have a blessed day! Love all of ya!
