He wanted to be back to see his wife, Janae, give birth to their second child. But he couldn’t get clearance to leave, though he did watch the birth as it happened online via Facetime. As he was watching, his commander slipped him a note saying his request for leave had been granted! He then traveled 22 hours across the globe to surprise his wife and meet his new baby, Charlotte, at Mary Greeley Medical Center. Watch this video to see it all unfold!
