A song for the Welsh New Year Blwyddyn I Heno means A Year from This Night. The song is about Pwyll Pendefig Dyfed ( Pwyll, Prince of Dyfed) a hero from the medieval Mabinogion, a collection of stories about Welsh mythology. During one of his hunting trips, Pwyll offends Arawn, one of the two kings of Annwn, the Welsh Otherworld. To make amends, Pwyll agrees to take on the lords appearance and take his place at Arawns court. At the end of the year, Pwyll engages in single combat against Hafgan, the other king of Annwn and Arawns hated rival, and mortally wounds him with one blow. As a result, Pwyll earns Arawn overlordship of all of Annwn. After Hafgans death, Pwyll and Arawn meet once again, revert to their old appearance and return to their respective courts. youtu.be/1UW-Zo6851o
