A special Veterans Day and Birthday shout out to one of my big heroes Chris Karamasines, who aside from being a Superstar and founding member of the Drag Racing community, who also @ 84 yrs old still activly races in Drag Racings fastest Class Top fuel dragsters, took on true hero status to me a cple years back when I dicovered he also was a WWII Combat wounded soldier who enlisted in the Army @ age 15. And the only reason he was not awarded the purple heart was after being shot in the leg by a sniper,, he refused to report it to commanders and a bunkmate sewed up his wounds so he would not be sent stateside and could remain with his unit! So this weekend so full of patriotic stories I want to raise awareness of another American treasure among us who still spends every weekend entertaining us by defying death at age 84 racing down dragstrips at over 300 miles per hour. Now thats a life fully LIVED !
