A special shout out to any possible Charlotte area SCUBA buddies!!!!! I am a bit desparate.... I am going on a week long all-inclusive SCUBA trip to Cozumel in Oct. And we have to have a dive within a year or pay an addtional ~$50 for a checkout dive (Ive only dove hundreds of times so dont really want to have to do this!?). UGH. I was going to go to Atlantic Beach this weekend (Aug 9/10) for some SCUBA, but it appears as if the weather is not going to cooperate with me for this weekend. :-( I didnt dive at all last year (VERY unusual for me) because of my move to Charlotte area and all the time that took (not to mention I am now A LOT farther from the beach)! I only know a very few folks around here (3) who are SCUBA certified and have already reached out to them (waiting to hear back)... I will not dive without a buddy (I am not a Kamikazi diver). So.... with that said, is there anyone around here (Charltote area FB friend) available to show me the ropes on diving in the Charlotte area (possibly Lake Norman or wherever it is you can SCUBA around here)? I have all my equipment except for tanks which I will need to rent. And I am available: Sun: Aug 17 or Sept 28 (after church) Sat/Sun: Sept 6/7, 20/21 or Oct 4/5 Please advise and thanks in advance for considering me in this request!!! :-)
