A special thanks to all the BOSTON fans who responded positively - TopicsExpress

A special thanks to all the BOSTON fans who responded positively to the fur animal message regarding the horrifying video PeTA obtained. I was gratified to see that so many people got it. I knew the post would ignite a firestorm of emotional reactions, and was not surprised by the number of people who identified with the perpetrators rather than with the suffering animal. As I wrote in the opening lines: there are those who enjoy suffering, those who dont care, and then theres the rest of us. It was nice to see so many people give a damn. For those who complained about the BOSTON facebook page being used for a nonmusical purpose, thanks you for your patience. In response, a little food for thought: First, in general I would agree; this page should just be about BOSTON music. However, there comes a time when everyone must choose between doing what is good for them personally, or doing what their heart tells them is best for others. Keeping this awful topic off the BOSTON page would have been in my best interest, but what kind of man would I be if I failed to use it to give these brutally treated animals a voice, just because it was not good for business? Second, this is of course what BOSTON is all about. Whether you agreed or not with the point of view, the subject addressed in the post was in line with the recurring themes of empathy, charity, and humanitarian living found not only in many of BOSTONs songs, but also publicized in every way possible in interviews, posts, and even album liner notes. What does it take to be a man? Enjoy your Thanksgiving, Tom Scholz
