A special thanks to our confirmation group members, Emily, Michael, Liam, and Hedy (her answers were ready by her sister Jordan) as well as parents Michelle and Cheryl and Bob and Bonnie (long time members not old timers) who were part of our intergenerational round circle today on the Affirming process. We hope this will help spark discussion between generations and lesson fears about talking about the LGBTQ community. Also thank you to everyone, we received 86 survey responses and those who chose to make some suggestions to clarify were helpful. We will attempt to do that for the News to the Pews over the coming weeks. This will be our last congregational event. Please keep talking among one another and let the Affirming and Diversity know if you have any questions or commens or suggestions. We are hoping to make the formal request to the church Offical Board in early September to hold the vote Sunday Oct 19th, 2014 to see if we will become an Affirming Coingregation or not. Please mark the date on your calendar. You must be here that day to be able to vote.
