A special tribute: Various veterans Ive known all deserve thanks not only on this day, but every day. Because of one veteran, my late husband Michael Stephen Kimmer, 7/24/1951-9/22/2004, I have three beautiful children. They are proud, strong individuals because of the legacy he left them, one molded largely by his service to our country. Military service was a proud mark in his past, and a credit to his memory. He, along with his comrades in arms and his comrades in peacetime, believed in guarding what they cherished; their homes, lifestyles, families, and country. An American Legion member for more than 20 years, he rests in Post Everlasting, and is now a soldier at rest in the arms of God.
