A specialist reconnaissance and technical team made up of Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) firefighters were deployed to the Solomon Islands , following a request for Australia to assist the Government of Solomon Islands. The team of six specialists and an Emergency Management Australia Liaison Officer departed from Amberley RAAF base this afternoon. The team is expected to be deployed for 10 days.
