A stitch in time, saves nine , has the dubious reputation of soliciting timely action to avert a catastrophe of extreme dimension, if procrastination postpones or delays a knock on the head, before it is too late. In times of crisis, losing ones head is too often a brighter prospect than a seasoned and mature approach,to confront the complexity looming ahead and threatening to devour a hesitant approach. The Kashmiri Pandit problem, in spite of the hibernating policy decisions of the UPA Govt, has been simmering beneath the surface, awaiting an opportune moment to explode on ones face, at any point of time. Dragging their feet till it led them to the grave, the UPA Govt, has been exposing multiple faces to each and every problem, and the brokered peace between different communities only helped in driving the problem underground, a ready mines sweep to detonate in a most awkward manner at the most inopportune moment. With the BJP, an allegedly communal party, coming to power, the subterranean forces, perhaps with a justified decades long grouse, seem to time their action, to drag the Trojan Horse to the forefront, seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. The State Govt, unable to take the bull by its horns, resorts to devious means in perpetuating the dispensation meted out by the previous Govt, as it suits them the most and burying their head in the quick sands of Destiny, when elections are staring at them round the corner. Any policy, pro-Muslim/minority, is SECULAR for the die hard Congress and NOW OR NEVER is realistic approach of the BJP, and, in this war of attrition, it seems more probable that the latter may bite the bullet a day too soon, though the odds are more against BJP in Kashmir, though, it may pay dividends in Jammu, a predominantly HINDU majority state. In the meantime, the major players in J & K, with Omar at the helm, is trying to buy time, advocating peace talks with PAKISTAN, a country, which is at war with itself. TIME ALONE CAN TELL WHAT IS IN STORE FOR EITHER THE CONGRESS OR BJP, OR FOR THE KASHMIRI PANDITS.
