A storm sweeps from Alaskas gulf, streaming moisture-burden - TopicsExpress

A storm sweeps from Alaskas gulf, streaming moisture-burden clouds into our valley, drags fog and mist in a counterclockwise spin; rolls over sandbars and sloughs, scours debris. Windfalls and eroded flotsam jam, careen, crash the river, pollute its turbulence. Gusts tear still-leaved cottonwoods, shallow-rooted hemlocks from saturated earth and duff-laden sponge, dive and bob snapping their branches with undulating arrhythmia. Roots skeletonized as filigreed tendrils spew frothy wake of dirt and rocks. Trailing winds lift disgorged clouds over jagged peaks. A chilled sky clears. ~Richard Lee Dick Harris
