A story I wanted to share about how much kind words can make a positive impact in peoples lives: I truly feel like I impacted a complete stranger today in such a positive way. To preface: the new year has brought many great changes in my life, but most importantly my focus. My focus on bettering myself each and every day. Asking myself, what am I going to do today thats better than yesterday? How hard do I think I can push myself and then some? How mentally TOUGH am I really? Well I just found out that I am tough enough to realize that in times I want to focus on bettering myself I can also make a difference in someone elses life: The past couples nights I have been here at the LA Fitness I go to and there has been a woman who has been here at the same time on the stair master the entire 10-20 minutes I am stretching. This woman is a larger set woman, but her attitude tells you nothing of the sort. Since the 1st of the year is when I first saw her here. Each and every single day I have seen her here she has such a focused look on her face, dripping in sweat. And each time I see her I look around at the focus of others at the gym, or the lack thereof (social gathering). Something told me tonight that someone recently told me something I really wanted to here, and that was that I was a winner and I can win the day each bad every day; something that has given me the most focus I feel I have ever had in my life. The focus I needed to push myself to my mental limits! Something told me tonight that this woman who have seen work so hard for a goal I am assuming is to get back into shape, lose a good deal of weight, and better her life! I just had to tell her that she was a winner in my own way. I tapped her on the shoulder and told her, you are doing awesome! Keep pushing yourself! I told her how I noticed how hard she pushed herself and not to stop! I shared with her about taking things one day at a time, and winning the day! To my surprise she was bright red and started waving her face with tears of, Im assuming, pride Im her hard work! She told me in the most sincere of ways how thankful she was and how much she needed to hear that. To conclude I would jst like to share this: take a moment out of your day where you focus so much on bettering yourself, and complement someone from the bottom of your heart, whether it be a stranger or someone you have known all your life. Share with people the positive things you notice about them. Most importantly, be so mentally tough that you can better someone elses life! I promise you that the feeling you impacted someone else when they never expect is just about the most impeccable feeling ever. When tomorrow comes, will you choose to be better than today? You are in control! You are a winner! Go out and get it!!
