A story for my law school compatriots... This weekend I was in Washington DC with my girlfriend and her kids. At the Lincoln Memorial, some kids were sliding down these smooth marble slabs, to the right and left of the stairs, that are sloped like a slide. My girlfriend, Veronica E LaBrie Anderson, asks her kids if they want to slide down, and I stop them, shouting, NO DONT! This is a law school hypo waiting to happen. If the kids hurt themselves we will have to no one to sue because this is government property and soveirgn immunity will apply. My girlfriend looks at me and says, Theyll be alright, and tells her son to go for it. So he gets up there and slides down full speed. About halfway down the slope, young Johnny (her son) loses some control of his slide, his legs go sideways, and he fails to stop at the bottom. Result? A very busted ass and a child crying right outside Honest Abes front door in front of hundreds of people. My girlfriend then turned to her daughter and said, Do you want to go? Wanting no part of what just transpired, Maria, her daughter, just shook her head no and walked away. All in all it was hilarious, but I hope in the future John does not develop any lumbar problems because in all likelihood there will be no cause of action. #howlawschoolpreventsmefromhavingfun
