A story from the desk of an overwhelmed Mom to share with you this morning: This Mamma of 4 littles ones is OVER WHELMED sometimes. Overwhelmed with my own kids and the not so great behaviors they display in private and also in public. But sometimes Im also over whelmed with the kindness of others as they to try lend a helping hand when they could see one was needed. After the worst trip to the grocery store with all 4 Ive ever made, nearly pulling out my hair, stoppiing every other second to give them stern looks and the evil eye while squeezing their arms tightly so they knew I meant business, repeating each of their names followed by the word NO at least 20+ times a piece which then resulted in multiple meltdowns because I wouldnt let them throw just anything into the cart... well my brain was fried and I was mortified. I got some of those looks from people that were obviously thinking, Think youve got enough kids now?, and I got some of the irritated looks because my 2 year old Beast was being a bully to both his sibblings and his Mamma and I wasnt handling it stearnly enough, and then I got the kind looks from people who I could tell had obviously been there before with their own children. One nice lady even stopped me to tell me, Its okay, youre doing alright and then proceeded to try and make small take with my boys to keep them busy. But the icing on the cake was a very thoughtful gesture from a dear friend who witnesses the choas of my crew upon us checking out. I had to leave my cart full of groceries in the store because my rugrats were way too much to handle to bring them and the grocies out to my car together. I proceed to my car, struggling with Beast who refused to sit down in the race car cart and Paxton who wouldnt walk next to the car but choose to dart through the parking lot. I start loading them up into their carseats which they are also fighting me on, Im about ready to crack at this point. And just at that moment I hear Darcy, Darcy! There I saw my friend who had cashed out her own items, gone to her car, and then ran back into the store for my groceries and had brought them out to me! Angie Madden, I cant tell you how much I needed that little boost right at that very moment!!! You made my day right at a moment that I felt like I was going to burst into tears. Thank you for being so thoughtful!
