A story (which I am assured is true) as told by a friend of mine who once served in the Norfolk Constabulary. Two police officers (names withheld to save any embarrassment) were on patrol and began feeling a bit peckish, so they decided to pull into a garage to buy something to eat. They bought a large packet of crisps to share between them, and continued on with their patrol. As they approached a T-junction with the intention of turning right, the officer driving asked his colleague “Anything left?” To which he looked down into the crisp packet and said “No.” The officer driving then pulled out of the junction and was struck by a car approaching from the left. Try writing that one up in the accident book.
