A story with this one. My daughter came home from buying a bunch of shit with gift cards from Xmas in 2001. Many came from a new outlet at the MAUL called Hot Topic.... She was still in High School. Brought home a tee with a Dead Kennedys logo on it. I asked her if she had heard or knew of the DKs when she bought that tee shirt [because I had not introduced her]. She said, No. I confiscated the tee and told her she could not wear it to school until she knew what she was promoting with it. [I WILL NOT send posers out into the world. You do not wear DKs without knowledge of what that means and not be able to answer questions about it when asked.] The very next day I bought her Give Me Convenience or Give me Death and Frankenchrist on CD. She listened to them on her own time, in her room until she understood. Only then did she get that t-shirt back.
