A story you wont read in the media: With being out in Ferguson - TopicsExpress

A story you wont read in the media: With being out in Ferguson the last 6 days, there is one thing I had yet to do: cry. For the last few years, Id become trained to reserve my tears in my own privacy. So even after been so shaken by the cops Wednesday night (to the point of kneeling aloud in prayers), I never shed a tear to release the agony, confusion, hatred, injustice, frustration, and other feelings that were felt. But earlier today after the rally at Greater Grace, I was driving when the song, Break Every Chain, (below) started to play through my radio. Thinking about everything thats happening (and even more things in my own life), I got overwhelmed and began to cry and sob by myself in my car. When I reached the next intersection, an older woman from a car on my left called out to me and told me to pull over. (I didnt realize that my window was still rolled down.) When I pulled over, she followed, approached me from her car, and told me to get out of mine. Id wiped my tears away, but obediently, I did as she directed, and when she hugged me, I sobbed even more as she consoled me and prayed. Once Id calmed, we chatted, and she let me know that she was from Dellwood, a neighboring town of Ferguson. She was on her way to W Florissant to help in tonights protest because shes an unofficial peacekeeper, but something (God) told her that she should stop me when she saw me. Im so grateful for Ms. Betty for providing the consolation and spiritual peace that I desperately needed today. There are angels walking W Florissant and N Florissant avenues, and the media wont share their stories. But I stand in solidarity with Ms. Betty and all the people who are standing up for justice and toiling for peace in our communities.
