At 9:00pm, the front was located south of Amarillo and was producing widespread wind gusts over 40 mph with the frontal passage. It will turn windy and much colder before midnight with north winds increasing to 20 to 35 mph with gusts up to 45 mph expected in some areas. Wind speeds remain gusty all night long as lows tumble into the middle and upper teens by daybreak Sunday morning.
