A student gifted me with a package of frozen durian fruit. We were supposed to have it during class at the NYBG, but there was no time. So, on Saturday afternoon, at home, we shared a bowl of durian pudding - durian mixed with a little milk and blended a bit. It tasted great, despite its gaseous odor. About 30 minutes later we heard commotion in the hallway of our building. People were asking others if they were smelling gas. People coming into the building smelled gas, as did people on the 4th floor. The fire department was called, and 7 fully suited firemen arrived in minutes and checked the premises for gas. It was the durian! OMG.
