A syllogism is a kind of logical argument that applies deductive reasoning to arrive at a conclusion based on two or more propositions that are asserted or assumed to be true. Now do this simple research work using syllogism. The Igbos have always claimed 3.5 million of them died during the Biafra war. 1. What was the population of Nigeria in 1966? 2. What was the population of Eastern Region of Nigeria in 1966? 3. What was the population of non-Igbo in Eastern Region of Nigeria. 4. What was the Igbo population in 1971 or 1973 or after the war? I have done the research already myself and you can do yours as well. From my research findings, the number of Igbo who died from the Biafra war are not up to 900,000. More than 300,000 Ijaw, Ibibio, Ogoni, Itsekiri, Uhrobo and Edo also lost their lives and more than 100,000 Yoruba people were killed. I dont know the number of that of the Gambari. Sentiment apart, the Igbo caused the war. They attacked Gambari and Yoruba first. Gambari retaliated. The Yoruba did not retaliate. Not until the second time, the Igbo attacked the Yorubas cousins -Edo and Itsekiri and attacked Ore. While we remember those who lost their lives today, another war is about to start officially. The Hausa/Fulani and the Igbo at the ongoing National Conference are refusing to accept Regional Autonomy and at the same time against the break up of Nigeria. It has never been possible for any country to survive two civil wars. Nigeria will break up without a return to Regional Autonomy.
