A tale of Skelldj Skarsvag: Like serpents on the water we slipped into the river we crossed seas rough and wild churned by Thors right hand it seemed a battle was taking place and we sailed in fear the monsters of the deep called us to be with them forever. Land appeared from out the wave spray welcoming us in to safety and safe haven and maybe some treasure too. Lush green fields full of Kye and yowe fattening for winters feast smoke from village fire streamed up to clouds of grey They watched us wade ashore until we formed a wall screaming their strange wild cries charged us on the beach. we saw fear in their eyes and still like demons fought blades so long and leather shields clashed iron on iron our shield wall it stood strong although they pushed us back the sea the grey angry sea gave us strength on which to draw one from their ranks who looked much like us weilding an axe carved and covered with swirling willowy pattern hacked and butchered his way through our wall he alone remained to hold us back but a hammer laid him low. along with treasure, kye and yowe we took him as a slave this giant of a man with long brown hair and beard teeth were missing from his mouth as he snarled roaring like a sacrificial bull spitting phlegm and blood. across the raging seas we sailed back to our farms and holms. he worked for us in our fields his muscles tight and flexed with baleful eye he studied us never uttering a word one day we watched him staring across the sea longing for his homeland a tear ran down his cheek. with bowed head he faced us and gave a howl "My name it is Findo" he howled," and I am a man".
