A taxi driver s job is simply to take the passenger on board home - TopicsExpress

A taxi driver s job is simply to take the passenger on board home safely and respectufully , and , this is it But , Is this , that simple ? No Is not this amazing ? Because local councils and authorities dont believe so They want all cabbies to have the knowledge like barristers and solicitors ,,, Why ? There is no apparant reason for knowledge test anymore with the invention of navigation devices as they operate on live GPRS , they are usually 90% accurate , Why cabbies are asked to do BTEC levels and taught polices of 18-19 th century of laws when horse and cart were used ,,, did hourse had gearbox or ABS system ? A huge amount of sum being wasted either way on these courses and funds to pocket the govt grants , Instead of these stupid gestures , they should subsidise the huge stupid licence fees and test costs to help the working folk who put hours and works all unsocialable hours to survive . A wonderful profession is usually tarnished by few cabbies and most officials , Drivers are supposed to be CRB checked ( no problem with that , infact a great believer in this ) , But they can never even imagine to question or refuse a convicted criminal from boarding ,,,, ??? Drivers,s presence in dark ranks, narrow allyways and in danger zones prevents crime alone , so , these unsung heroes help police saving time and agro but same police dont miss a chance to pinnalise them at their earliest opportunity. Anyway subject is lengthy and a lot could be said but the bottom line is , the authorties should create simpilicity and sensibility and should avoid stupid policies and invest their time in more productive thought process and implement sensible workable stratgey to improve safety and driving standards by running workshops and training sessions , rather than teaching them about horse-cart.. Scenario ,, while they driving Hybrid cars. Policy makers should invest their talent to real public and driver , safety and well being in the best interst of both .
