A team of UN Military Observers Group in India and Pakistan - TopicsExpress

A team of UN Military Observers Group in India and Pakistan visited on Monday and Tuesday the villages which have been badly hit by Indian firing in Charwah, Chaprar and Pukhlian sectors on the working boundary near Sialkot. Team of UN observers met the villagers, witnessed and gathered first hand account of damage caused to human lives and property due to recent Indian hostility on the Working Boundary. As many as 12 innocent Pakistani citizens have lost their lives due to Indian unprovoked Indian firing, 11 out of 12 on the working boundary, while 1 embraced shahadat at Loc. 64 civilians have been badly wounded due to recent Indian Shelling. Indians have committed 24 ceasefire violations on working boundary and 26 on Line of Control since October 1st, 2014 and have been targeting civil population living in villages all along the working boundary. Day to day living of civil population all along working is badly affected. People have almost fled their homes and taken refuge in nearest safe places. The observers team also visited the Combined Military Hospital Sialkot and met civilians who are injured due to unprovoked firing by the Indians. It may be mentioned here that Pakistan on 9th October lodged a strong protest with the United Nations Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP) over unprovoked Indian firing/shelling on working boundary and Line of Control (LoC) and offered UN team to visit the Working boundary and Loc to have first hand account of Indian hostilities. It is pertinent to mention that as per UN resolution Pakistan fully utilizes the good office of UNMOGIP which is in place on both side along Line of Control and working boundary to investigate such incidents or violations by either side. It is also relevant to high light that Pakistan offers full access to UNMOGIP observers to investigate and bring the facts in front of the world, however Indians have always been reluctant and deny access to UNMOGIP observers on their side.
