A teenager has been charged with theft of a car, dangerous driving and traffic offences after police stopped a suspected stolen Audi in Tipton overnight. Traffic officers on patrol attempted to stop an Audi A3 in Dudley Port in the early hours of this morning (27 Jan), however the car failed to stop. Police followed the suspected stolen vehicle through Tipton before it collided with a fence on Tipton High Street. All five occupants of the car were arrested at the scene. Two men, aged 19 and 22, were later released without charge. Two men, aged 22 and 27, remain in police custody on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, whilst a 16-year-old boy from Netherton was charged and bailed to appear before Sandwell Youth Court on 10 February. The teenager was charged with failing to stop for police when directed to do so, using a motor vehicle without insurance, driving without a licence, driving without a test certificate and driving dangerously.
