A tenth point of interest on the Half Marathon course is Asilomar State Beach. Located near mile 8, Asilomar State Beach is a narrow, one-mile strip of sandy beach and rocky coves that also features a 1/4 mile boardwalk trail through the dunes. This is a favorite spot for surfers and dog owners (dogs are welcome ON leash). The beach connects Pacific Grove with neighboring Pebble Beachs Spanish Bay Beach. On race day the Taiko Drummers will be located next to Asilomar.
