A terrible incident has happened in Pakistan today. More than 100 school children were killed by terrorists. These terrorists dont represent any religion. However, there is a lesson for both India and Pakistan to learn from this horrible incident. It is time for Pakistan to stop differentiating between good terrorists and bad terrorists. A terrorist is a terrorist. They cannot say TTP is bad because it is attacking Pakistan and LeT is good because it is attacking India. These fundamentalists were nurtured by the ISI for a long time. After 9/11, the priorities of Pakistan have changed. So the same Pakistan Army and ISI who were nurturing these extremists are fighting a fierce battle against them. The extremists are attacking the Pakistani Army because they are feeling betrayed. Pakistan should eliminate the menace once and for all and learn the consequences of nurturing a monster. India also has an important lesson to learn here. We are also taking baby steps towards radicalization of our society. With the ascent of BJP, all the fringe elements representing the intolerant saffron segment of our society have suddenly gained prominence. Mass conversions are being organized. There is a call to make India into a Hindu Rashtra. Secular has become Sickular. We are repeating the same mistakes which were committed by Pakistan. Pakistan took this direction many years ago and we see the result today. I am sure we dont want India to meet the same fate. It may seem like my far fetched imagination to many of you but if we continue on this path for a decade or two, nothing much will be left of India as we know it today. Our freedom fighters were not stupid. They were visionaries. They opted for a secular Constitution to avoid these very pitfalls. Our unity in diversity is our strength. It is our job to protect the secular fabric of our country. If you keep on ignoring the threat like many Pakistanis did, we will also meet a similar fate. Wake up before it is too late.
