A terrible story with a happy ending. Meet Gingersnap. Gingersnap lived on skid row with her owner giving her love and comfort. Owner was struggling with personal issues, trying to make her way in a turmoil life and lifestyle. Living on the streets, braced against the rain and cold, she stayed a true and faithful pet to her homeless owner. Owner had to go somewhere she could not take Gingersnap and so she tied her to a fence. Returning many hours later, she found Gingersnap had gotten herself tangled in her leash as she struggled to free herself from the fence. Her back in was constricted so that she lost the ability to stand and was urinating blood. A TDS volunteer who was passing out dogfood, found out about this dog and got her to a hospital. Lifeline paid her bills, orchestrated by Spay California Now -a Non Profit low cost spay and neuter group. Slowly she healed with no known prognosis in sight. After spending time in the hospital she is now at TDS in physical therapy. She gets daily swimming in the tub, massage, managed time outside. I am happy to report that after a little over a week, she has 100 percent use of one back leg and 80 percent of the other. I see daily progress and I expect a full recovery. Her reports from the vet all show normal internal stuff. So she is nearly ready for her close up. She is a happy little tropper, and very much grace under fire. She needs someone to connect to, to love, to give the incredible comfort she is capable of giving. Her former owner realizes she just can not take care of a dog at this point in her personal journey. So Gingersnap is looking into the universe for that one special person that will open up their heart and home to her. It comes with one stipulation. It has to be for now and forever. thedogspotrescue@aol.
