A theory is more rational to hold when it is able to account for - TopicsExpress

A theory is more rational to hold when it is able to account for the same, or wider array of phenomena, with less assumptions, axioms, or problems. . Does the Holographic Principle do this? Or would it be better to hold to the Firewall or the Information Paradox hypothesis? Indeed the Holographic Principle fits this description to a T. . Not only does the HP describe the inner workings of a black hole, without necessitating the destruction of physical information (which is what physical causality is based on) or the added assumptions given with firewalls, but it describes a wider array of phenomena than either Hawkings IP or the FH because not only does it bring us closer to unifying Special Relativity with Quantum Mechanics, but it also can be used to derive General Relativity from Thermodynamics. . It also helps to describe the world without the assumptions required to make Cartesian Dualism (which is plagued by the interaction problem) operational, or the problems with Materialism (ie. the Hard Problem of Consciousness, the experimental results in QM, the burgeoning field of Orch-OR, etc).
