A theory is one of the highest classes in science, besides a law. It cannot be a theory without solid evidence, evolution has already been proven, you cannot argue with it, its a fact. Creationism is a laymans theory which means its not a scientific theory. A layman theory =/= scientific theory. Evolution = fact, creationism = laymans theory. A theory isnt just a theory its a solid argument thats awaiting to be wrapped up. (Note these are not definitions I made, but theyre true, all credit goes to the owner of these definitions.) Definition Scientific theory A scientific theory is a well-substantiated explanation of some aspect of the natural world that is acquired through the scientific method and repeatedly tested and confirmed through observation and experimentation. As with most (if not all) forms of scientific knowledge, scientific theories are inductive in nature and aim for predictive power and explanatory force. Laymans theory In common usage, the word theory is often used to signify a conjecture, an opinion, or a speculation. In this usage, a theory is not necessarily based on facts; in other words, it is not required to be consistent with true descriptions of reality. This usage of theory leads to the common incorrect statement “It’s not a fact, it’s only a theory.” True descriptions of reality are more reflectively understood as statements which would be true independently of what people think about them. In this usage, the word is synonymous with hypothesis.
