A though to share.. It was December, 2011, when a cut-and-paste job by a PhD student while preparing his manuscript has caught up co-author C. N. R. Rao, science adviser to India’s Prime Minister in plagiarism row. The student later says he was responsible for the error, and has sincerely apologized. It was a huge embarrassment for Prof. Scientist C.N.R. Rao that he later wrote to the journal offering to withdraw the paper, “but the editor felt the work to be important and should be published with an apology”. The journal published the paper in its December 2011 issue with an accompanying apology from him even thou it’s a mistake of his student. But today when Prof. C.N. R. Rao was honored with the Barat Ratna (highest civilian award) for his 64 years of services towards the science as a professor and 52 years in research, written over 1600 papers and 48 books. He proved himself as quite a grateful teacher by dedicating the award to his students. “I am made of my work, and my work involves a lot of what my students do with me” therefore, he said he dedicated the award to his students.
