A thought for life about Thanksgiving The Skill of Saying Thank - TopicsExpress

A thought for life about Thanksgiving The Skill of Saying Thank You: Do you remember when you were young and someone gave you something and your parents emphasized the importance of expressing gratitude. They would slowly and clearly instruct you with these words, say thank you. And, if you were so stubborn not to say it, they would make you give it back, or keep insisting that you say it. And if they detected, your thank you, was not genuine or just to fulfill an obligation, they would make you say it the right way, with true feelings of appreciation. Those lessons taught us a life long skill that will take us a long way. Also, it says to me that recognizing when to say thank you and learning how to express thanksgiving is as critical as learning to receive the gift itself. They also taught us that it is not the size or amount or even the type gift, but it is the thought that counts. For real! Character can and should be taught. Character is not an inborn trait or naturally developed. It is deliberately passed down to each generation. Character should also be celebrated and recognized. This gets us ready for life. What thanksgiving does for us is help us appreciate those who made a difference in our lives: mothers, fathers, bothers, sisters, friends, pastors, church members, neighbors, mentors, leaders, teachers, love ones, coworkers, counselors and many others. Within the last 10.5 months from January to November, God used many human tools to help us along the way. Say thank you, like you have been taught to say it, and especially thank God for intervening all year long. Remember this, you can never be thankful looking only for perfection. Ungrateful people cannot express thanksgiving because they are too busy looking at the misses, the mistakes, the violations, the weaknesses and the shortcomings of those closes to them. Be thankful that God forgave you of all that and more. It may not have been as much as you would like. It may not have been as many times as they should have. It may have followed with a disappointing action. There may have been a brilliant moment followed by an ignorant statement or action. But thank God for the little light and the effort and the attempt. There is always something to grab hold of and say, that is worth saying thank you. Luke 17:11... Lessons learned 1 out of 10 people actually know how to show appreciation Jesus demands it, celebrates it and rewards it A thanksgiving heart generates health, healing and wholeness You may be the only one but do it any way Thanksgiving requires noticing the little things as well as the big things Thanksgiving is a measurement of your faith Thanksgiving demonstrated your sensitivity toward the ones who blessed you God can do anything but tolerate ungratefulness A whole generation died in the wilderness because they saw Gods miracles and still murmured and complained and distrusted God The work is not done in you until you take time out to show your appreciation You can say thank you before seeing the full manifestation of your request There is a record in heaven of your gratefulness and your ungratefulness Thank You Lord for another season to say, THANK YOU!
